Frequently asked questions

About the service

The data is in a system that no longer exists. Can it be recovered?

In the vast majority of cases, yes. CALMO works precisely with decommissioned systems: Oracle, Progress, SQL Server and other databases, old backups, idle servers, workstations, mailboxes, spreadsheets and documents. The diagnostic shows, before any larger investment, what can be recovered and at what quality.

Can't our IT team or the ERP vendor do this?

They can extract parts, but rarely consolidate different sources into a single database, with workpapers, chain of custody, timestamps and an ICP-Brasil signature. That trail is what supports the lawyer's, auditor's or accountant's work before the judge or the public authority.

How long does it take?

The findings report is issued within 5 business days after access to the infrastructure. With the consolidated database, each assessment is delivered in days. The recovery timeline depends on the volume and condition of the data and is set out in the proposal.

What if the lawsuit or audit deadline is short?

Tell us the deadline in your first contact. Deadline-driven demands are prioritized and the plan is built backwards from the due date.

Do you need to touch the company's servers or systems?

No. All collection is read-only, with a light load and within agreed windows. The original is never altered, and all access granted is reverted at the end of the project.

Will the data leave the company? What about the LGPD?

Each client has an exclusive, isolated cloud environment. The data belongs to the client, can be exported at any time and is processed only to perform the service, under the confidentiality and data-protection terms agreed — formalized in a single agreement signed with an ICP-Brasil certificate.

Who signs the report?

Technical responsibility is joint: the report is signed by the CALMO team, responsible for the database, the assessment, the workpapers and the chain of custody, and by the partner's specialist (auditor, lawyer, accountant or forensic expert), responsible for the legal theory and the professional review.

What is the 10-year immutable retention?

Recovered data and deliveries are stored with no possibility of alteration or deletion for 10 years, with timestamps from 5 international authorities. Any future challenge can be answered with the same database, in the same version.

Pricing

How much does it cost?

Pricing is set upon diagnostic, according to the volume, the condition of the data and the complexity of the demand, and is set out in the proposal. The diagnostic is the entry point and already indicates which assessments are feasible before any decision on recovery.

Is there a success fee?

For some assessments, yes, and always on actual results: amounts received or offset after a final judgment, or proven savings. The rules are set out in the proposal, before contracting.

Do I need to subscribe to the Data Center?

It is not mandatory. The Data Center is recommended for those who want to keep the history accessible for routine queries — former clients, period reports, documents —: the client asks, and the CALMO team runs the queries and delivers the agreed reports and indicators.

Do you serve companies directly?

No. CALMO works exclusively through trusted partners — independent auditors, law firms and accounting firms. If your company does not yet work with a CALMO partner, talk to your auditor, lawyer or accountant, or use Contact us to ask for a referral to a partner in your region or field.

For partners

Who can become a CALMO partner?

Independent auditors, law firms, accounting firms and consultancies that already serve companies and know their legal, tax, accounting and labor demands.

Does the client remain the partner's client?

Yes. The partner leads the relationship and the legal theory; the client stays linked to the partner across all service lines and new assessments.

How is confidentiality ensured?

Each client has an exclusive, isolated environment, with restricted access and every operation logged. Client information flows only between the partner, the client and the CALMO technical team.

How do I register as a partner?

Through the “Request access” form on the Partners page. The CALMO team reviews every request and contacts you to present the commercial terms.
